A sprinkle of grated cheese
A hot pepper
A dollop (“dollop” great word) of sour cream
All of these have found their place on a bowl of red. You’ve probably tried them all. Let me give you one you may not have tried yet.
A dollop (“dollop” still a great word) of horseradish sauce
Recently the Smokin’ Hot Wife made a slow cooker pot roast for Sunday afternoon dinner. (Yeah, it’s good to be the king.) She dished it up Old School with some horseradish sauce. (Now is the time to reflexively say, “Aww, yeah.”)
The next day I took some leftover chili out of the fridge.
Then I saw the horseradish sauce.
This historic moment was much like this 1980 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup commercial, with the difference being all the people in the commercial annoy me… who walks down the street with an open jar of peanut butter… and what about the creepy guy offering Reese’s Cups — he’s literally a “stranger with candy”!!!
I warmed up the chili and put it on a low carb wrap. I then slathered (“slathered” also a great word) some horseradish sauce on the chili.
You’ve got to try this. Insanely good.

4 tablespoons prepared horseradish
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 teaspoon dry mustard
6 tablespoons mayonnaise
